Up in the Garden, Down in the Dirt by Kate Messner

Questions to ask your child in response to the read-aloud:
  • Why do the little girl and Nana water the garden?
  • What happens in the garden in the fall?

Learn at Home activity for today:

Wednesday:
And Then...
Take turns imagining what comes next in a story. Start a story, then pass it to your child to determine what comes next with a line such as, “and then...” You and your child can pass the story back and forth until it comes to an end.

Continued Weekly Activity
Have your child draw a picture of their favorite plant that they eat. I would love to see the drawings! Please text me or email a picture of your child's drawing to MrsGonzalezCOVID19@gmail.com.

Open ended questions:
  • Tell me about your art.
  • What did you notice about ____?
  • I notice that you ____.
  •  How did you do that?
  • What will you try next? Why?
  • How does this picture, painting, drawing, etc. make you feel?
