Updates

   The second Learn at Home Packet is still available for pick up at the school from 9am-1pm every day this week.
  We have been approved to use Zoom until a replacement has been recommended. Zoom Meetings will continue, starting this week.

Question for the Week:
What do plants need and where do we find them?

Weekly Foundational Read-Aloud: 
The Curious Garden by Peter Brown

Questions to ask your child in response to the read-aloud:
  What did Liam do in the winter?
·    How does the city look at the beginning of the book? How does the city look at the end of the book? Do you prefer the way it looks at the beginning or the end? Why?


Learn at Home activity for today:

                                      Tuesday: 

Play Store
 Gather objects to buy and sell and take on roles of cashier and customer. Discuss what the customer is buying and why, how many items they are buying as well as how much the items cost individually and together.

Open ended questions:
 Who are you going to be today? 
·     I wonder what would happen if ____? 
·     What will you do next?
·     What do you think about ____? 
·     What does that remind you of?


Continued Weekly Activity

Parents and children can find and observe a plant together. They can talk about what the plant looks like, parts of the plants, how it smells, the way it feels etc. After observing the plant children can write or draw about it. Please email the writing / drawings to MrsGonzalezCOVID19@gmail.com

Scholastic Learn at Home - The website offers multiple days of content including read-alouds, movement activities, STEM activities, drawing activities, building activities, etc.  

One of the parents suggested to set up a free Zoom account and have one family member or friend teach their child something new each day via a Zoom call!
