Week of October 5th

October Theme: Clothes 
This month the students will be discussing the fall season and observing the changes that this time of the year brings . This months theme will be clothing. Clothing is a perfect medium to learn colors, size, numbers and texture. The students clothing investigation will help students use skills in literacy, math, science, technology and the arts. 


Math: Measure clothes with counting cubes
Science: White socks experiment 
Art: Clothing collage 
Writing: Draw your favorite clothing item
Blocks: Find the shapes in the quilt 
Library: Clothing books 
Dramatic Play: Clothing items

Discuss the different texture of clothing
Look at clothes labels and explain size 
Show your child how to zip his/her sweater and tie shoe laces
Ask your child about clothes
